Abstract:

Otter trawl (36' Yankee and 4-seam net deepwater gear) catches from mid-Atlantic slope and canyons at 200 - 800 m depth.

Deep-sea (200-800 m depth) flat otter trawls with deepwater headrope floats: 2009-2012 off mid-Atlantic shelf: 4 cruises with separate catch sheets: 1. DE09-01, 2. DE10-02, 3. DE11-01, and 4. DE12-01, plus 5. combined trawl data.

Purpose:

Purpose of cruises for exploration of canyon and slope areas, collection of deep sea red crab and monkfish data, and training of students in NOAA Living Marine Resources Coastal Science Center program.
