Commercial Fisheries Information Network(ComFin)

The commercial data collection program is mandatory, trip-based system with all fisherman and dealers required to report standardized data elements. All minimum standard data elements listed in table 1 of the (FPDD) must be collected by all partners conducting commercial data collection programs.

This task is for the further implementation and operation of commercial trip ticket systems in the Gulf of Mexico. This task provides for continued implementation and operation of components for a commercial trip ticket system to census the commercial fisheries landings on the Gulf of Mexico, using the data elements and standards developed by the ComFIN.

Texas, Louisiana, Alabama and Florida have fully operational trip ticket programs.
