Title: Field Intercept Survey

Purpose:

Texas conducts field surveys of Gulf-based charter boats utilizing components from the Texas recreational harvest program and the MRFSS For-Hire sampling program. It consists of field intercepts, roves of sampled vessels and maintenance of the sample frame ((list of active Gulf charter(for-hire)) boats. Data collected is used to estimate catch-rates for the landings estimates.

Supplemental Information:

Defines survey periods, survey areas, sampling frame, prevalidation roves, number of surveys, interview procedures, and duties of the interviewer for the Texas Charterboat survey.
