The source geotifs were used to create geotifs in the Albers Conical Equal Area projectionand the geographic coordinate system name of GCS North American 1983. The horizontaldatum name is North American Datum 1983 with an ellipsoid of Geodetic Reference System 80Monthly turbidity geotifs were used to make grand monthly Mean images, which consistof the average of all Mean images for each month in the time series.(ex: Jan '98, Jan '99, Jan 00, Jan 01, Jan 02, Jan 03, Jan 04 = SW1998200401_MED670_UTM.tif). | Source Geospatial Form: unregistered | Type of Source Media: geotifs

Description:

An EASI program was run on the daily turbidity geotifs of the SeaWiFS northeast region to create Mean Monthly geotifs for the specified region of the Gulf of Maine. The new geotifs were reprojected from their original SIN E019 projection to Albers Conic Equal Area,NAD 83, GRS 80. These images are scaled down from 16 bit data to 8 bit data. In orderto get the turbidity values from the 8 bit geotifs, the following formula should be applied to the 8 bit data values:Turbidity = 10^(((8bit# - 1)*(3/250))-4.0)
