Description:

The monthly precipitation (mm) for all available weather stations in Saint Thomas, Saint John and Saint Croix were downloaded from NOAA National Climate Data Center (NCDC) (http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/climatedata.html). An annual mean was derived for each station. Using the X,Y position of the station, a raster files was created, and the mean precipitation for the USVI was estimated by spatial interpolation in ArcGIS, using a regularized spline interpolation method with a weight of 0.1, using the 6 nearest points.
