Abstract

Lidar point cloud data was collected in the Yakima-Benton study area of Washington State. A total area of 194,615 acres were flown with an average of 8 points per square meter. NAIP imagery was used to assign RGB values to the points.

Distribution Information

  • Create custom data files by choosing data area, product type, map projection, file format, datum, etc. A new metadata will be produced to reflect your request using this record as a base.

  • LAS/LAZ - LASer

Bulk download of data files in LAZ format, geographic coordinates, orthometric heights. Note that the vertical datum (hence elevations) of the files here are different than described in this document.

Access Constraints:

None

Use Constraints:

Users should be aware that temporal changes may have occurred since this data set was collected and some parts of this data may no longer represent actual surface conditions. Users should not use this data for critical applications without a full awareness of its limitations.

Data Quality

Vertical Positional Accuracy:

For the OLC Yakima-Benton study area, a total of 2,220 GSPs were collected. An additional 118 reserved ground survey points were collected for independent verification, resulting in an average accuracy of 0.017 meters and a fundamental vertical accuracy (FVA) of 0.042 meters. The root mean square error on hard surfaces was 0.022 meters.
