Abstract:

NOAA Fisheries uses area-based management for implementing our regulatory mandates under the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, Marine Mammal Protection Act, Endangered Species Act and the Antiquities Act.

Purpose:

The Fisheries Managed Areas project will house managed area data that can inform national scope analysis of NOAA Fisheries' management activities and communication of our management activities to the public and the recreational and commercial fishing communities.
