Abstract

The cruises table is at the intersection of the ATL and Domestic data sets. As the redevelopment of the NORPAC system extends into observer logistics this object may change in name and structure.

This is a table that joins the cruise number with the observer and the observer contract ID.

CRUISE
NUMBER 		A unique five-digit number assigned to the observer for the length of their contract period. This number alone identifies and groups a set of observer information. Sequence generated by Norpac and supplied to the observer as an unique identifier for an observer cruise record.

DATE 		The date in which this entry was made.
SEABIRDS
VARCHAR2 		During debriefing a record is entered in this table if an observer has seabird notes in their logbook. If an observer has seabird notes in their logbook the debriefer makes a photocopy of these notes and gives the photocopy to one particular staff membe
OBSERVER_JOIN
NUMBER 		A unique number that identifies a specific observer.
OBSERVER_CONTRACT_ID
NUMBER 		This is a number associated with an observer's specific 90-day contract.
DEPLOYMENT_DATE
DATE 		This is the date in which the observer was deployed on their first vessel or plant for this contract.
