Summary

Abstract

Acoustic transmitters attached to sea turtles captured in various fishing gear enable the animals to be passively tracked. Acoustic receivers set up in an array detect sea turtles with acoustic transmitters as they travel through an area. Once a week, detected transmissions are downloaded from each receiver to a laptop via blue tooth. Using date, time, and and number of transmission for each transmitter allows us to determine movements and locations of acoustically tracked sea turtles using an acoustic array of receivers.

Description

Provides date, time, transmitter number, turtle identification number, station name and geo-location of each transmission detected by a receiver.
