Summary
The Fisheries Statistics Division collects data and coordinates information and research programs to support the science-based stewardship of the nation's living marine resources. The Commercial Fisheries Data System integrates and disseminates state and federal statistics about commercial marine fisheries landings volume and value, foreign trade and the production of processed marine products. Sources for this data include the Census Bureau, NOAA Fisheries Regional Science Centers (Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, Northwest, Alaska), offices of the regional Fisheries Information Network (Atlantic Coastal Cooperative Statistics Program, GulfFIN, PacFIN, AKFIN, WPacFIN), and a survey of domestic processors of marine products.

To make available to the public data on U.S. domestic commercial fisheries landings, foreign trade and processed products. Data are searchable via the ST1 website, and are included in various monthly and annual reports, including Fisheries of the United States. |
