Abstract: |
An Oracle relational database used to manage the inventory of samples received at NOAA NMFS Panama City Laboratory and NOAA NMFS Beaufort Laboratory from numerous sources. The database links the sample information which could include otoliths, scales, spines and/or gonads to the to the interview listed in the Trip Interview Program (TIP) database. |
Purpose: |
To manage the inventory of samples received at the NOAA NMFS Panama City Laboratory and the NOAA NMFS Beaufort Laboratory. Also, to view TIP as well other data through the user interface of the BSD system. This allows the team to see the latest copy of data as it is entered or modified, as well as adding additional data into the new BSD system without the need to re-key the data from TIP or anyplace else. |
Notes: |
The Biological Sample Database is joined with the Trip Interview Program database. |
