ACS data: Data are based on a sample and are subject to sampling variability. The degree of uncertainty for an estimate arising from sampling variability is represented through the use of a margin of error (margin of error was omitted from this product but can be found in the original source data). In addition to sampling variability, the ACS estimates are subject to non-sampling error. The effect of non-sampling error is not represented in these tables. Join the downloaded tables to the updated Coastal Counties layer using the County FIPS attribute to copy the median household income from the ACS table and the total population and total housing units from the Census table into the associated attributes in the Coastal Counties layer. Download Census and ACS data from American Factfinder as comma-delimited (*.csv) documents. Delete extraneous attributes. Merge select omitted independent cities from TIGER/Line Shape with Coastal Counties (Washington DC, Fairfax city, Falls Church city, Fredricksburg city, Manassas city, Manassas Park city, Richmond city, and Colonial Heights city). Utilize topology to align polygon edges. |
