Issues

Issue 1

CC ID: 215072
Issue Date: 2015-09-01
Author: Snodgrass, Derke
Issue:

samples are mostly collected from recreational fishery during dock visits so the freshness of the samples are good but not perfect.

Technical Environment

Description:

not very technical, just presence/absence, sizes, dates, and some weights.

Data Quality

Representativeness:

samples are from legal sized fish so there are not many small or extremely large specimens.

Accuracy:

very accurate

Field Precision:

very good

Quality Control Procedures Employed:

Very brief data proofing and data archiving

Data Management

Have Resources for Management of these Data Been Identified?: No
Approximate Percentage of Budget for these Data Devoted to Data Management: 0
Do these Data Comply with the Data Access Directive?: Yes
Is Access to the Data Limited Based on an Approved Waiver?: No
If Distributor (Data Hosting Service) is Needed, Please Indicate: No
Approximate Delay Between Data Collection and Dissemination: 180
If Delay is Longer than Latency of Automated Processing, Indicate Under What Authority Data Access is Delayed:

Some samples are collected and kept remotely until a few month's worth are ready to be shipped.

Actual or Planned Long-Term Data Archive Location: To Be Determined
If To Be Determined, Unable to Archive, or No Archiving Intended, Explain:

The archival process is currently under development.

Approximate Delay Between Data Collection and Archiving: 180
How Will the Data Be Protected from Accidental or Malicious Modification or Deletion Prior to Receipt by the Archive?:

The data resides on a secure government network requiring multi-factor authentication for network access.

Lineage

Lineage Statement:

samples and data are mostly collected by a Port Agent in Louisiana over a couple of months time period. Once that person's freezer is full then they send a cooler full of them to the Miami office for archiving and data entry.

Process Steps

Process Step 1

CC ID: 283616
Description:

Samples are collected. Collection data is recorded on hardcopy (notebook or datasheet and on sample baggy). Remotely collected samples are shipped to Miami. Data is entered into Excel dataset.
