Summary

Abstract

Table contains count, size range, and weight information, if available, for fish, non-penaeid shrimp, and 'Other Invertebrates'. If count = 0, a code of '-999' indicates no fish, non-penaeid shrimp, and/or 'Other Invertebrates' to measure or weigh for given record or sample. If count ≥1, a code of '-999' in measurement column indicates damaged specimen(s) that could not be measured for given taxon. Empty column indicates parameter was not measured.

November 1997 is only period in Pelican Spit 1988-1997 with weight data for nekton. All available Fish & 'Other Inverts' count and length data appear in this table.

November 1997 weight/mass data are in the FishMass & lInvertMass tables. All total counts by taxon*station must be divided by 2.6 to calculate number per meter squared values because larger 1.8-m drop trap used sampled an area of 2.6 m2.

Size range/interval midpoint for fish and 'Other Inverts' length data represents midpoint of size interval, not mean of actual measurements.

For Fish & ‘Other Inverts’ and stations PS-1988-10.01 through PS-1994-05.24 (October 1988 through May 1994) all individuals (i.e., total counts) were entered in this table. For November 1997 Fish & ‘Other Inverts’, however, only a maximum of 22 individuals [minimum and maximum length, plus up to 20 additional specimens at random] were entered on “tblSizeRange”. Number of specimens unmeasured were entered with a code of -999 if >22 individuals.
