Full Citation Examples
The Beaufort Bridgenet Ichthyoplankton Sampling Program (BBISP) at the NOAA Beaufort facility is the longest consecutive ichthyoplankton ingress sampling program along the U.S. east coast. The sampling, in which fall/winter spawned larvae are collected weekly from mid-November through April/May at the Pivers Island Bridge, represents a time series, initiated in 1986, of larval fish ingress through Beaufort Inlet. Program objectives include (1) developing fishery-independent indices of abundance for use in stock assessments, and (2) determining responses of individual species and assemblages to environmental drivers, including climate variation.

Lineage
Process Steps
Process Step 1
Description: |
Environmental sampling data are written by hand during weekly sampling efforts, then entered into the master MS Access database. Periodically, icthyoplankton samples are sent away to be processed by a contracted agency species identification, abundance, and length data are returned in Excel format, and subsequently entered into the master MS Access database. |
