Habitat conservation activities in the Southeast Region are principally achieved through the efforts of Habitat Conservation Division personnel stationed at offices located strategically throughout the Region. The Division is organized to correspond to the areas under management by the three regional fishery management councils in the Southeastern United States: Gulf, South Atlantic, and Caribbean.
By decentralizing and collocating staff with research, academic, and natural resource management partners, the division directly interacts with constituents allowing us to implement the NOAA Fisheries habitat protection program in the southeastern United States effectively and efficiently.
