Regulatory Amendment to the Trade Monitoring Program for Toothfish
Summary
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) published a final rule amending U.S. regulations for the Chilean seabass or Patagonian toothfish trade monitoring program.
The final rule removes the prohibition of imports of toothfish caught in FAO Statistical Areas 51 and 57 (Indian Ocean), revises the circumstances under which NMFS would deny a pre-approval certificate to import toothfish, and adds regulations under which NMFS would deny a re-export or export document.
