IB 02-1: NMFS Announces 2002 Recordkeeping and Reporting Workshops January 10, 2002, in Kodiak, Alaska

Notice of a fishery management action.

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Region, and the United States Coast Guard, North Pacific Regional Fisheries Training Center (USCG), will present workshops for the fishing industry on 2002 recordkeeping and reporting (R&R) requirements for fisheries of the exclusive economic zone off Alaska, according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS. Regulations implementing R&R requirements are found at 50 CFR part 679.

The workshops will include discussion of R&R and permit requirements along with instructions for completion and submittal of the required forms and logsheets. Suggestions, questions, and feedback on new and existing procedures and regulations are welcome. The workshops will be held at the USCG Fisheries Training Center, USCG Base, Kodiak, Alaska, and are scheduled as follows:

Thursday, January 10,
9 a.m. to 12 noon, Alaska local time (A.l.t.), for vessels
1 p.m to 4 p.m., A.l.t., for shoreside processors
