IB 04-13: NMFS Opens Directed Fishing For Pollock In Statistical Area 630 Of the Gulf of Alaska For 12 Hours

Notice of a fishery management action.

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) issues an inseason adjustment opening the fishing season for pollock in Statistical Area 630 (between 147 degrees and 154 degrees W. longitudes) of the Gulf of Alaska (GOA) for 12 hours effective 1200 hrs, Alaska local time (A.l.t.), February 4, 2004, until 2400 hrs, A.l.t., February 4, 2004, according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This 12-hour opening is necessary to allow the fishing industry opportunity to harvest of the 2004 interim total allowable catch of pollock in Statistical Area 630 of the GOA.

Upon the closure of this 12-hour fishery, maximum retainable amounts at 50 CFR 679.20(e) and (f) will apply at any time during a trip.
