The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening directed fishing for pollock in the West Yakutat District of the Gulf of Alaska, effective 1200 hours, Alaska local time (A.l.t.), April 1, 2021, according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.
This action is necessary to fully use the 2021 total allowable catch of pollock specified for the West Yakutat District of the GOA. Other closures remain in full force and effect.
