NOAA Fisheries is soliciting nominations for the “SEDAR Pool,” which is also known as the Advisory Panel (AP) for Atlantic Highly Migratory Species (HMS) Southeast Data, Assessment, and Review (SEDAR) Workshops. Individuals in the SEDAR Pool may participate in the various data, assessment, and review workshops associated with shark stock assessments If selected to participate in a workshop, members of the SEDAR Pool would consider the scientific information, including data and models, used in stock assessments and advise NOAA Fisheries about the conservation and management of Atlantic sharks.

In 2018, NOAA Fisheries intends to update the Gulf of Mexico blacktip shark stock assessment. In 2019, NOAA Fisheries anticipates conducting a benchmark stock assessment for Atlantic blacktip sharks. Any meetings or workshops needed for these assessments will be determined according to SEDAR Guidelines.

Individuals with definable interests in the recreational and commercial fishing and related industries, environmental community, academia, and non-governmental organizations will be considered for membership in the SEDAR Pool.
