Dan Pendleton
Background
Dan Pendleton holds a PhD in Natural Resources and a MS in Soil Science from Cornell University, and a BS in Mathematics (major) and Statistics (minor) from Minnesota State University, Mankato. After obtaining his PhD, Dan worked as a postdoctoral associate at the NOAA Northwest Fisheries Science Center and as a Research Scientist at the New England Aquarium before joining NEFSC.
Research
Dan’s research is focused on using remotely-sensed satellite data, dynamic ocean models, and various statistical models to inform our understanding of how oceanographic and ecological processes determine the spatio-temporal distribution of large whales, especially North Atlantic right whales. Dan is also involved in several NEFSC vessel-based field work campaigns.
