Mason Smith, Ph.D.

Mason is a Marine Habitat Resource Specialist with the Alaska Region. His expertise includes spatial analysis, species distribution and ecosystem modeling, remote sensing, population dynamics, and restoration ecology. Prior to joining the Alaska Region in 2021, Mason worked as a fisheries biologist for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and earned a PhD in Geosciences from Florida Atlantic University in 2022.
