In 2008, a panel of independent experts reviewed and evaluated the Science Center's approaches to ecosystem-related research and monitoring programs.

The Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center conducts an annual peer review process to carefully examine its science programs. In 2008, we invited a panel of independent experts to evaluate our approaches to ecosystem-related research and monitoring programs to support an Ecosystems Approach to Management. Comments from the review panel identified strengths of current programs and identified new directions to develop the broad, integrated science needed to support an Ecosystems Approach to Management.
