Educator Workshop: Bridging Environmental Literacy and Career Pathways
Join the Maryland State Department of Education, Maryland Department of Natural Resources, and NOAA Environmental Science Training Center for a free workshop exploring the exciting intersection of environmental literacy and career pathways.
About
Green careers are some of the most dynamic opportunities in the Chesapeake region and the United States as a whole. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, wind turbine service technician and solar photovoltaic installer employment is expected to grow by 60% and 48%, respectively, over the next 10 years. These occupations and other conservation and green careers are essential for the region’s future workforce and opportunities for students.
The Maryland Blueprint for Education charts the course for improving the quality of education for all Maryland students. Central to this is expanding opportunities for career-oriented programming such as internships, apprenticeships, and career and technical education to meet the needs of both students and the regional economy.
Join colleagues from the Maryland State Department of Education, Department of Natural Resources, and NOAA Environmental Science Training Center to explore opportunities to support Maryland's learners by developing and enhancing career-oriented learning opportunities.
