This page provides updates about the SIMP Comprehensive Review, including announcements and relevant resources. If you have questions about the review or request to be added to the listserve for future updates, please contact iuu.fishing@noaa.gov.

While the program review is underway, SIMP continues its regular operations, and program requirements remain unchanged.  Additionally, NOAA Fisheries will continue to support industry and other stakeholders in program compliance during the review process and provide technical assistance for program compliance through SIMP Support (simpsupport@noaa.gov).

SIMP Comprehensive Review Summary, October 2023 - June 2024

After the conclusion of our comprehensive review, NOAA Fisheries will provide an update on the next steps for SIMP in Fall 2024.

Listening Sessions

As a part of the review process, NOAA hosted a series of public listening sessions to provide an update regarding the comprehensive program review and solicit further written and oral feedback from stakeholders. During the six webinars, held in the fall of 2023 and spring of 2024, NOAA spoke with a wide array of stakeholders and members of the public about upcoming program improvements, answered questions, and heard comments and suggestions from participants.
