Britta Timpane-Padgham
Background
Britta began working for the Watershed Program at the Northwest Fisheries Science Center in 2014 to help evaluate the status and trends of essential salmon habitat for the Puget Sound Region. Since then, she has contributed to various field-based and remote sensing projects in a number of different watersheds and nearshore areas in Washington State. Her work utilizes geospatial data for large-scale landscape and watershed health evaluation and salmon habitat recovery. Britta received her B.A. in Environmental Studies and Anthropology from the University of Montana, Missoula and an M.M.A. from the University of Washington's, School for Marine and Environmental Affairs.
Current Research
Britta's current research focuses on analysis of how nearshore habitat impacts salmonid species recovery in Puget Sound, water supply and demand in the Skagit River Basin, investigating sources of resilience in a changing climate for habitat restoration and application of UAS/Drones for environmental surveys and monitoring.
