Ashley Cook is a Marine Biology and Ecology Ph.D. candidate at the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Sciences at the University of Miami. Ashley studies cetacean acoustics with an emphasis on the Rice's whale (Balaenoptera ricei). Her research interests include call detection and classification, signal propagation, and the application of passive acoustic monitoring (PAM) methods to understand trends in animal density.
