Olivia Robson
Olivia’s current project as a zooplankton research technician, focuses on the energetic value of copepod species as Northern Right Whale prey items. Her other research interests include ecosystem dynamics and spatial distribution of ichthyoplankton and zooplankton. She hopes to gain a better understanding of the effects of a changing environment on the vulnerable early life stages of fish and other marine organisms.
Professional History
In 2017, Olivia started her career as a northeast fisheries observer working out of Cape Cod, MA. Then as a volunteer on the bottom trawl survey aboard the NOAA ship Henry Bigelow, she learned of the survey technician position on NOAA’s fisheries research fleet. After learning of the position she became a survey technician and then senior survey technician aboard the NOAA ship Oscar Dyson in Kodiak, AK.
