This Environmental Assessment/Regulatory Impact Review/Final Regulatory Flexibility Analysis evaluates alternatives to further conserve fish habitat in the eastern Bering Sea.

The Northwest Pacific Fisheries Management Council and NOAA Fisheries re considering additional precautionary measure to minimize potential adverse effects of nonpelagic trawl fishing in the eastern Bering Sea. This Assessment tiers off of the 2005 Essential Fish Habitat Environmental Impact Statement and considers open and closed areas, as well as gear modifications, for the nonpelagic trawl fishery.
