Living Marine Resources of the Hope Basin: A Resource Assessment for the Hope Basin Oil and Gas Lease Sale Number 86, 1981

This report addresses the living marine resources and their habitats that are within the purview of NOAA Fisheries. The report covers the following subjects:

1. a general description of the environment and habitats encompassed by the proposed sale area
2. a review of the fish and invertebrate resources of the southeastern Chukchi Sea
3. the status of knowledge of marine mammal populations of the area
4. the commercial and subsistence uses of these resources by coastal residents
5. potential effects of oil and gas development on these fish and marine mammal populations and their habitats
