RIR/IRFA for Amendments to the Fishery Management Plan (FMP) for Groundfish of the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands (BSAI) and the BSAI Crab FMP to Revise the Pribilof Islands Blue King Crab Rebuilding Plan - Amendments 43 and 103

This Regulatory Impact Review/Initial Regulatory Flexibility Analysis evaluates a suite of spatial closure alternatives affecting groundfish fisheries around the Pribilof Islands in the Bering Sea. 

This Regulatory Impact Review/Initial Regulatory Flexibility Analysis addresses proposed in Amendment 43 to the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands King and Tanner Crabs Management Plan and proposed Amendment 103 to the Groundfish of the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands Management Plan. Pribilof Island Blue King Crab (PBIKC) is presently in an overfished status. These alternatives are being proposed to reduce prohibited species catch (PSC) of Pribilof Island Blue King Crab. They are part of a revised rebuilding plan to enhance the long term sustainability of the PIBKC stock.
