What is SHARE?

SHARE is a review of the current state of Atlantic shark fishery that may be used to develop future management measures. NOAA Fisheries examined a variety of factors affecting the fishery, including all aspects of commercial and recreational shark fisheries conservation and management, and shark depredation. As a comprehensive review of Atlantic shark fishery, the SHARE document identifies areas of success, concerns, and potential modifications to regulations and management measures in the future. There are no proposed changes to current regulations or management measures associated with SHARE. Any potential changes to HMS fishery management measures that result from this review process will be considered in future rulemakings.

Public Comment
