Summary

NOAA Fisheries is transferring 5 metric tons (mt) dressed weight (dw) of blacktip, 50 mt dw of aggregated large coastal sharks (LCS), and 8 mt dw of hammerhead quota from the western Gulf of Mexico sub-region to the eastern Gulf of Mexico sub-region.

The transfer will be in effect through the rest of the 2019 fishing season unless we announce another adjustment in the Federal Register or close the fishery.

This quota transfer affects anyone with a directed shark limited access permit fishing for LCS in the eastern or western Gulf of Mexico sub-regions.
