Regulatory Amendment 28: Golden Tilefish Annual Catch Limits
Regulatory Amendment 28 ends overfishing of golden tilefish by reducing the total annual catch limit (ACL) to 342,000 lb. The commercial and recreational sector ACLs and component commercial quotas are specified using existing sector allocations of 97 percent commercial and 3 percent recreational. Under the final rule for Regulatory Amendment 28, the commercial ACL is 331,740 lb, gutted weight. The commercial quota for the hook and line component (25 percent) is 82,935 lb, gutted weight and the commercial quota for the longline component (75 percent) is 248,805 lb, gutted weight. The recreational ACL is 2,316 fish.
