In 2024 the Alaska Fisheries Science Center will conduct research activities including vessel-based and aerial surveys. We do this to collect data and information to support marine resource management and conservation to meet our federal mandate under guiding U.S. laws. These laws include the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, the Marine Mammal Protection Act and the U.S. Endangered Species Act, among others.
