IB 05-84: NMFS Open Directed Fishing for Pollock in Statistical Area 620 of the Gulf of Alaska

Notice of a fishery management action.

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening directed fishing for pollock in Statistical Area 620 (between 154 degrees and 159 degrees W. longitudes) of the Gulf of Alaska for 96 hours effective 1200 hrs, Alaska local time (A.l.t.), September 8, 2005, through 1200 hrs, A.l.t., September 12, 2005, according to Susan Salveson, Acting-Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This action is necessary to fully use the C season allowance of the 2005 total allowable catch of pollock specified for Statistical Area 620 and is issued pursuant to 60 CFR 679.25(a). Other closures remain in full force and effect.

After the effective date of this closure on September 12, 2005, maximum retainable amounts at 50 CFR 679.20(e) and (f) apply at any time during a trip.
