The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening directed fishing for yellowfin sole in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands effective 1200 hrs, Alaska local time, July 19, 2006, according to Robert D. Mecum, Acting Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.
This action is necessary to fully use the 2006 total allowable catch of yellowfin sole in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands. Other closures remain in full force and effect.
