The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening directed fishing for pollock in Statistical Area 620 (between 154 degrees and 159 degrees W. longitudes) in the Gulf of Alaska (GOA), effective 1200 hrs, Alaska local time, September 21, 2007, according to Robert D. Mecum, Acting Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.
This action is necessary to fully use the C season allowance of the 2007 total allowable catch of pollock in Statistical Area 620 in the GOA. Other closures remain in full force and effect.
