Inseason Actions #20 - #22 in Ocean Salmon Fisheries, North of Cape Falcon Recreational (La Push & Neah Bay subareas)

NOAA Fisheries has taken inseason actions in the 2022 recreational ocean salmon fishery. 

  • Inseason action #20 modified the north of Cape Falcon recreational salmon fishery from Cape Alava, WA, to the Queets River (La Push subarea), from a two salmon per day bag limit to a two salmon per day, only one of which may be a Chinook salmon, beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, July 4, 2022. 
  • Inseason action #21 modified the north of Cape Falcon recreational salmon fishery from the U.S/Canada border to Cape Alava, WA (Neah Bay subarea), east of the Bonilla-Tatoosh line; beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2022, the fishery is closed.
  • Inseason action #22 modified the north of Cape Falcon recreational salmon fishery from the U.S./Canada border to Cape Alava, WA (Neah Bay subarea); beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, the fishery is closed.

These actions were taken to extend the north of Cape Falcon season length and allow access to the Chinook and coho salmon quotas.
