As part of the development of Amendment 59, the NOAA Fisheries Southeast Regional Office is hosting a series of in-person public hearings in Florida on February 24th and 25th, and in Georgia on March 5th. NOAA Fisheries will review Amendment 59 and the proposed management options for South Atlantic red snapper and other federal water snapper-grouper species. The structure of the public hearings allows for several presentations on the amendment and proposed rule. For the public hearings in Florida, the same presentation will be given at 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm, allowing public hearing participants multiple options on when to attend the hearing. After presentations, there will be separate breakout rooms for the public to ask questions, obtain more information on Amendment 59 and the proposed rule, and provide public comments to NOAA Fisheries.

Permits Mailbox: The Permits Office in St. Petersburg, Florida, now has a Permits mailbox in the front lobby (263 13th Ave. South, St. Petersburg, FL 33701). You can now drop off original permits for permit transfers. Envelopes with information labels will be provided so that your documents can be attached to the correct application.
