Brian Hooper
Brian Hooper is the Assessment Process Lead for the Northeast Fisheries Science Center. In this role he runs the Northeast stock assessment process and collaborates with our partners to improve engagement, science, and understanding - resulting in robust management actions and outcomes. Brian has a strong record of managing complex projects, improving program efficiency, strategic planning, and translating science into management. He previously served with our West Coast Region as a fishery management specialist where he focused on reducing bycatch and protected species interactions in the Pacific groundfish fishery. Prior to that Brian worked for our Greater Atlantic Regional Fisheries Office ensuring agency actions complied with the National Environmental Policy Act.
