Chris Kelble, Ph.D.

Chris Kelble is the Director of the Marine Ecosystems Division in NOAA Fisheries Office of Science and Technology. Chris received a BS, MS, and PhD from the University of Miami and worked for 25 years at the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory. Chris is working with the marine ecosystems division to advance the implementation and science supporting ecosystem based fisheries management using the integrated ecosystem assessment framework. Chris oversees NOAA Fisheries taxonomic group at the National Systematics Laboratory and international fisheries science coordination. These efforts build upon the various expertise in the marine ecosystems division as well as in regional science centers to improve the management of NOAA Fisheries trust resources and marine ecosystems.
