Heather Haas, Ph.D.
Heather has a Bachelor of Philosophy with a focus in Biological & Cultural Diversity from Miami University, a Master of Science in Marine Biology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and a PhD in Oceanography and Coastal Studies with a Minor in Experimental Statistics from the Louisiana State University. After completing a stint as a postdoctoral research ecologist at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Heather was hired in 2003 as NEFSC's Protected Species Branch (PSB) Sea Turtle Lead. In 2012, Heather participated in NOAA’s Leadership Effectiveness and Advancement Program and subsequently shifted gears to start PSB’s Turtle Ecology research team
