Background

Kathryn received a B.S. in Marine Science and Biology from University of Miami and an M.S. in Marine, Estuarine, and Environmental Sciences from University of Maryland. After graduation, she worked as a scientific programmer (contractor) in support of the Northwest Fisheries Science Center. She primarily worked on Stock Synthesis, a software program used by stock assessment scientists worldwide. In 2022, Kathryn joined the Office of Science and Technology as the NOAA Fisheries Integrated Toolbox lead.

Current Work

Kathryn leads the NOAA Fisheries Integrated Toolbox and supports the National Stock Assessment Program on software projects, including the Fisheries Integrated Modeling System. She is also involved in efforts to advance Open Science within NOAA Fisheries.
