Kathryn Doering
Background
Kathryn received a B.S. in Marine Science and Biology from University of Miami and an M.S. in Marine, Estuarine, and Environmental Sciences from University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. She started working as a contractor at the Northwest Fisheries Science Center in 2019.
Current Research
Kathryn supports the Stock Synthesis project, a program used by stock assessment scientists worldwide (including many at the Northwest Fisheries Science Center). She also contributes code to tools designed to work with Stock Synthesis, including the R packages r4ss and ss3sim. Currently, she is involved in developing an R package to facilitate management strategy evaluation analyses that use Stock Synthesis models as operating models and in researching population dynamics modeling best practices through simulation studies.
