Maya Philipp is a sophomore at UC San Diego, majoring in Marine Biology and minoring in Urban Studies and Planning. Maya was a scholar in the NOAA Hollings Preparation Program, and has continued to work with the Southwest Fisheries Science Center’s Acoustic Ecology Lab, identifying and classifying humpback whale calls. Maya also enjoys photography, baking and serving as Editor in Chief of UCSD student newspaper The Triton.
