Samuel L. Rambo
Background
Served in the United States Air Force from 1993-2004 as an Electronics & Radar Craftsman. Sam spent many years serving all around the world, while running many different work centers, Air Traffic Control Radar, Quality Assurance Evaluations and Maintenance Control. While holding many positions such as Unit Safety Manager, Unit Deployment Manager, Unit Communications Security Officer. After leaving the Air Force he worked with the special projects R&D group at JT3 based in Las Vegas Nevada. In 2005 returned to the Pacific Northwest as part of the NW fisheries science center. In 2007 he was awarded the Department of Commerce Silver Medal for new designs to improve data collections techniques and underwater RF antenna designs. In 2018 he was awarded the NWFSC employee of the year.
Current Research
Samuel designs equipment and study layouts for research projects all around the Pacific Northwest. Working with many different project biologist, from originations both federal and private, designing studies to meet their needs, while serving as the expert in electronics and in underwater radio telemetry for the Northwest Fisheries Science Center. Many of his designs incorporate, wide area networks, local area networks, for real-time data solutions.
