National Marine Mammal Entanglement Response Coordinator

Steve Manley is the National Marine Mammal Entanglement Response Coordinator for NOAA Fisheries’ Marine Mammal Health and Stranding Response Program (MMHSRP). Steve began working with the MMHSRP in 2015 as a John A. Knauss Marine Science Policy Fellow, and later as a Senior Analyst with Ocean Associates, Inc. Before working with NOAA, Steve was a GIS and Environmental Specialist for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Biscayne Bay Aquatic Preserve. Steve has a M.S. from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science and a B.S. from the University of Miami. Steve works closely with NOAA Fisheries regional staff and the Marine Mammal Entanglement Response Networks by supporting field response efforts and ensuring that NOAA’s conservation goals are met.
