Summer L. Martin, PhD

Dr. Summer Martin is the leader of the Marine Turtle Biology and Assessment Program at the Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center. She has conducted research on marine turtle populations throughout the Pacific Islands Region for the last 7 years. Some highlights from her work include modeling fisheries impacts on turtle populations, quantifying nesting trends for leatherback populations around the world, and studying marine turtle ecology in the Mariana Islands through in-water surveys, satellite telemetry, and modeling. Summer has a PhD in Biological Oceanography from Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
