2024 Right Whale Festival
Join us in celebrating the annual return of the North Atlantic right whale to our coast! Each fall, pregnant whales’ journey over 1,000 miles to the coastal waters of the Southeast U.S. to give birth and nurse their young. With fewer than 360 whales remaining, they face increasing threats from human activities.
About
The festival will raise awareness about one of the biggest dangers they face: vessel strikes. Right whales often swim near the surface, making them vulnerable to collisions with ships. By encouraging vessel operators to slow down, we aim to protect these endangered creatures.
The festival highlights efforts to protect these whales from extinction, as well as ocean-themed activities, and exhibits that emphasize education, as well as environmentally responsible adventures and products.
Free Admission - Come early and spend the day! Educational exhibits, animal ambassadors, beach clean-up, kids’ activities, family fun, live music, food, and more!!!
